The cruise maximizes daytime river cruising for optimal viewing of spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and iconic views and vistas.
Join us we travel in the path of the great explorers, Lewis and Clark and their faithful native guide, Sacajawea. This Pacific Northwest voyage features soaring mountains and dramatic landscapes as you sail thru the stunning Columbia River Gorge. You’ll hear the history of the people who settled the area with your onboard Riverlorian as they weave the stories of the mountains, the Native Americans, and the explorers who settled this area along the river. A truly unforgettable experience awaits, as you take in the natural beauty unique to the region. There are impressive mountains and landscapes to view as you cruise on the Empress, a floating boutique style hotel for your journey. You’ll be up close and in-depth with a river cruise experience that you won’t ever forget.

July 14 – Flight to Spokane, WA with Atlanta and WA motorcoach transfers included. Overnight stay at the historic
Davenport Hotel downtown. Dinner on your own.
July 15 – Included breakfast at the hotel, followed by included premium city tour. Lunch will be on your own in town and then board the motorcoaches to travel to Clarkston, WA where we will board the Empress. Dinner included this evening as we cruise around the Clarkston area. (All meals are now included during the cruise )
July 16 – We will stay in port during the morning in Clarkston so that you can take an optional excursion into Hell’s Canyon Scenic Jet Boat Experience or do the Hop On Tours in town. Afterwards, we set sail.
July 17 – Our port of call is Richland, WA which is the northernmost point reached by Lewis and Clark. You can visit Sacajawea State Park to learn more about this important stop along the river.
July 18 – Scenic River Cruising – Take in all the canyons and the dramatic mountain views today. Spectacular!
July 19 – The Dalles, Oregon – the celebrated end of the Oregon Trail
July 20 – Stevenson, WA – beautiful mountain area with the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center and Bonneville Dam
July 21 – Astoria, OR – the last winter camp for Lewis and Clark, and a charming small town
July 22 – Vancouver, WA, where we will leave the boat at 8:00 am and travel by bus transfer to the Portland airport
The price listed includes the river cruise, airfare from Atlanta to Spokane; and then from Portland to Atlanta, ALL airport transfers by motorcoach, all port charges, taxes and fees, one premium city tour of Spokane pre-cruise, one night hotel in Spokane with luggage handling and breakfast the next morning, ALL meals on board the boat, all Hop-On Hop-Off Shore Excursions, all onboard ship amenities, and all government taxes. Price DOES NOT include onboard gratuities or any optional premium excursions offered by American Queen.
Category C – per person with two people in the room: $4415; For the single traveler in category C it’s $7715
Category E -per person with two people in the room: $4215; For the single traveler in category E it’s $7315
Price: We have 14 cabins reserved at the moment. They are in category C, which has private verandas and are located on decks 2 and 3 on the Discovery and Frontier Decks. We also have a few cabins in category E, which has a semi-private veranda that open to upper deck 4 on the Vista Deck and has two chairs per cabin outside. (This deck is open to walkers) Other suite categories are available if you’d like me to check. There are currently no window cabins left.
Please note that the airfare, motorcoach transfers to all airports, and a Spokane city tour have been budgeted at $925 per person. This $925 is INCLUDED in the price listed above. This is based on current airfares with Delta Airlines. It will be collected separately and sent to Seniors On The Go Travel at a later date. American Queen does not do any airline bookings, so I will be doing this with the group’s department with Delta. INSURANCE is also separate and must be paid at the time of deposit. Those checks will also be paid to Seniors On The Go Travel at time of deposit to cover pre-existing conditions. The cost of insurance is non-refundable once purchased. It includes trip interruption so that if you have to get back home during the trip for medical reasons, that cost will be covered. It also covers trip cancellation for medical reasons or a death in the family. Full documentation is a must for any claim that is filed.
