Atlanta Tour From The Ashes
Thursday, May 4, 2017
This will be a ‘new’ tour of Atlanta with a wonderful guide who will give us a new look into the old streets of Atlanta. He will offer us a unique history of the city as it rose from the ashes and became the premier southern city. We will concentrate on the architecture of the buildings that line downtown. From the Flatiron Building to the Plaza, I think you’ll like his unique view. He will also take us to a spot we’ve never been before, the Westview Abbey. I’m excited to see this and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by it. While out and about, we will be making a stop at the recently re-purposed Ponce City Market. It once housed Sears and Roebuck and has now been transformed into two floors of retail shops and an upscale food court area. Even if you’re not a shopper, you’ve love all the history of the building and the original features that they have left. We’ll also enjoy a wonderful meat and three lunch at the famous Mary Mac’s Tearoom on Ponce. It’s always a treat! Join us on this unique tour of the city with a terrific new guide.
