February 7-11, 2022
5 days and 4 nights
Join your travel friends for a wonderful getaway to pretty St. Pete Beach! This charming Gulf-front community features lovely, white sand beaches, a laid-back beach vibe, and a small community feel. You won’t find huge high-rise condos or hotels here. Instead, you’ll be treated to a terrific beach town! While here you’ll have 4 nights at a Gulf-front beach hotel. It features a pool, outside games, a fun Tiki Bar, and nightly entertainment. When you’re ready to head to the beach, just walk to the sand and you’re right there! Great location and a really fun-style hotel.
Our days are planned with some beach time for everyone, yet time for touring the area too. There’s so much to see in this area and we’ll be taking in a lot, yet enjoying the beach. Highlights include:
–Clearwater Marine Aquarium – where the famous dolphin ‘Winter’ lives. Dolphin shows are held each day, along with other great presentations which feature rescued marine animals.
-A visit to John’s Pass – a wonderful collection of waterfront shops, boutiques, and restaurants near St. Pete Beach
-A visit to the downtown area of St. Petersberg with its unique art vibe and its picturesque waterside location. We’ll take a quick city tour and then stop at the all-new Pier; as well as the incredible Salvador Dali Museum, which is housed in the Yann Weymouth fantastically designed building. Here you’ll see one of the largest Dali collections in the country. While here we’ll enjoy a wonderful, included lunch downtown too!
-A visit to Pass-A-Grille where we’ll take in one of their famous sunsets. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the past with its small-town old Florida neighborhoods. While there we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at the world-famous Hurricane Restaurant. Their grouper sandwiches are incredible! Don’t forget to ring the bell at sunset!!
-A visit to the Ringling Brothers Circus Museum (which is much more incredible than it sounds!) in pretty Sarasota. The museum houses costumes, posters, train cars, model circuses and so much more. The Ringling’s also built a palatial Venetian-style waterfront mansion, Ca’d’Zan. You may tour it, along with the lovely gardens that surround it. Not to be missed is the Museum of Art that the Ringling’s had built on-site too. It features a lovely Pink Renaissance-style palace with 21 galleries. All these buildings were gifted to the state of Florida and are beautifully maintained. All are lovely to visit!
-A visit to the Amish restaurant, Der Dutchman! Yes, Amish! There is a large community of Amish families that live in Florida for the winter. We’ll be treated to an incredible meal there!
-Farewell dinner on board the lovely Starlite Sapphire Dinner Cruise. It sails in the quiet waters off the Bay and features wonderful food, spirits, entertainment, and dancing. It will be a great way to top off a fun week at the beach!!
