Fresh Georgia Peaches Trip!!

We are the Peach State, so let’s head to middle Georgia to go find some of those delicious peaches!  First, we will stop at Pearson’s Farms, which is a small, family-owned production outside of Ft. Valley.  You’ll have time to shop and perhaps to enjoy some peach ice cream too!  You’ll see firsthand how the peaches are sorted and packaged. Then it’s on to Dickey Farms, which is just a bit north of our first stop.  They have a very inviting ‘front porch’ style location with lots of white rocking chairs.  You can buy peaches, produce, jars of jam, and of course ice cream too!  After all this shopping it’s time to enjoy a delicious family-style lunch at Buckner’s – home of the very best friend chicken in Georgia.  After all, it’s done in peanut oil!  Lunch is served on a lazy Susan on a round table.   You will have bowl after bowl of sides, another meat option, corn muffins, and of course peach cobbler!  This is always a really fun little trip and there’s plenty of room to bring back as many cases of fresh peaches as you want!
