This lovely downtown has created a great reputation as one of the south’s Prettiest Small Towns.  During this season it’s transformed with twinkling lights, holiday decorations, and a true Christmas spirit!  While there we will take in the Old Governor’s Mansion, which was built in 1839 and has been home to 8 governors.  The main foyer features a lovely thirty-foot Christmas tree with thousands of lights and ornaments.   Each room will be decorated in magnificent 19th-century style and is truly lovely.  We will also enjoy a narrated city tour aboard their famous trolly ‘Milly’.  This one-hour ride will take you into the historic district, as well as the Statehouse Square area where we’ll enjoy a bit of walking too.  An included lunch is planned at a local restaurant, as well as a bit of free time along their main Street, where you can support locally-owned businesses that will be all decorated for the season!  This is truly a magical town at Christmas!
