Hearst Castle with Lunch
Rate: $119 per person
Hearst Castle is a historic mansion built by publishing tycoon William Randolph Hearst on his vast San Simeon estate. With architect Julia Morgan, he conceived an enormous structure inspired by the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor in Ronda, Spain. Your tour begins with a movie, Hearst Castle: Building the Dream, projected on a five-story screen and telling the story of the castle’s construction. Next is a guided tour of the Grand Rooms, the opulently decorated rooms, gardens, and pools where Hearst entertained his many guests, especially during the Roaring Twenties. Lunch is also included. This option needs to be purchased at time of booking and no later than 65 days prior to the start of the tour. Any requests to book onsite are based on availability only. Duration: Approximately 9 hours. Please note a minimum of 12 passengers is required. Transportation is included.
Day 8: Portland – Boston, Massachusetts
Extend your stay in New England with 2 nights in Boston – Massachusetts’s historic capital city. As the site of the famous “tea party,” Boston has a long history of fighting for independence since the time of the Revolutionary War. Explore the city on your own, perhaps grabbing a bite of some renowned seafood or a cup of famous clam chowder. Consider venturing to the North End for some authentic Italian food, keeping an eye out for a fresh cannoli.

The day is yours. Consider walking along the harbor, grabbing a pint in one of the many Irish pubs, or even visiting one of the city’s museums. As the home of 35 different colleges, Boston features a perfect blend of history and modern innovations.
