Christmas at The Greenbrier

Christmas at The Greenbrier

WAITLIST ONLY!!
FOUR DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS

We’ll be spending two nights at the luxurious and elegant Greenbrier Resort, located in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. It’s located in the pretty Allegheny Mountains and is tucked away to make the location even more scenic.  At Christmas time the hotel is decorated throughout.  It is simply stunning.  The beautiful white exterior is also decorated with greenery and bows to make it look amazing too.  The hotel has a 244-year history in the area and has grown and become an exceptional property.  It features 682 rooms, elegant dining rooms, exquisite interior design, gorgeous landscaping, impeccable service, shopping, a full spa, an indoor swimming pool, casual eating spots, and an incredible casino.

While at the resort you’ll be treated to two, four-course dinners in The Grand Dining Room. It’s a dress-up affair for dinner, and jackets are required for men. Ladies may wear dresses or dress pants and tops. The dinners are truly wonderful and you’ll also have two full breakfasts, where casual attire is fine.

A particularly appealing part of this trip is you will stay two nights, so on the second day of the trip, you can relax and just enjoy the property. You can take the historic hotel walking tour which is done several times during the day. You can take in the afternoon tea, which is not to be missed. Sitting in the lovely hotel among all the decorations and sipping tea is another wonderful and relaxing experience. The resort is also home to the declassified Bunker, which we will tour. The secret city is located underground and at one time was where Congress would be taken in the event of a national emergency. This walking tour is amazing!

Each evening at the resort they have a movie, ‘Christmas At The Greenbrier’ in their historic theatre. They also have a full-service spa. There are also lovely cottages, a chapel, and other historic properties on-site, and you can walk the grounds, or perhaps sign up for a carriage ride through the resort. Although out of season, their golf course is a site to see and has been featured in many PGA tournaments. There is also a host of boutiques on the property for those who enjoy shopping. Those who wish can enjoy the $20 coin bonus in the ‘underground’ casino too. They have a nightly champagne toast for all guests too. I just can’t brag enough about this property and all that they offer.

This trip normally sells out, so please mail in your deposits soon. You don’t want to miss it!

We will have a late checkout on December 8, so you can relax a bit more. From there we will make a stop at Tamarack, which is home to a host of handmade items by West Virginia artists and craftsmen. You’ll have time for an included lunch there as well. The building is very unique and there is a small museum too. We’ll follow that up with an overnight in Wytheville, Virginia. While there, we’ll enjoy a Christmas-themed show at the Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre. It’s always fun on our last night in the area. We’ll come home the following day, all in the Christmas spirit!
