A Little North/South Carolina Getaway

A Little North/South Carolina Getaway

May 15-16, 2026
Two Days and One Night

How about a little time away from home with a great dinner show, a famous airplane, and a charming small town?  Join us as we make our way on this fun trip with an included lunch at Jackson’s Cafeteria!  We love this family owned and operated place.  After lunch we’ll take a short driving tour of nearby Belmont College.  It’s a lovely campus with its historic Monastery and Basilica.  We’ll then head into their charming downtown of Belmont.   They have a host of great shops, an ice cream place, and other very walkable places to browse.  From there we will go to our hotel in Rock Hill, South Carolina and get checked in.  Shortly afterwards, its time to travel the short distance to Narroways Dinner Theater.  Tonight’s’ show is Not Just Another Love Story – Remembering the Days of WWII.  It’s set in the 1940’s and depicts the resolve of America’s greatest generation. This musical dinner show will be very patriotic and nostalgic.  It celebrates the joy, sacrifice, and enduring resilience in this moving story of love and redemption.  It promises to be very entertaining for all and is very family friendly.  A delicious plated dinner will be served before the show.  If you have any dietary requests, please let me know on your sign-up sheet so that an alternative can be order for you.  They are very accommodating and friendly at this theater!  You’ll enjoy it tremendously!

The following morning, after your included full breakfast, we will make our way to the Sullenberger Aviation Museum in Charlotte, which is named for Sully Sullenberger.  This museum will bring aviation history to life with their 40+ aircrafts, artifacts, exhibits, and the most famous plane from the Miracle on The Hudson.  You’ll see the plane which was recovered after that famous flight where ‘Sulley’ landed the emergency flight on the Hudson River.   The exhibit features more artifacts, glassware, photos, and you’ll see a short film as well.  You’ll also learn about the aviation history of North Carolina, which is home to US Airlines.   The museum sits beside the Charlotte International Airport, where there is a viewing area where you can see planes taking off.  I’m excited to see this iconic plane and museum!  Following our museum visit, we will visit a local food hall for an included lunch.  Then it’s time to head back to Snellville! We should be there by 5:00.

Join us for the sweet little getaway!
