Amelia Island in the Spring

4 Days and 3 Nights

Join us for this three-night trip to lovely Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, Florida.  We’ll be staying at the historic harborfront location right downtown.  It’s a great spot to enjoy this very walkable town, take in the harbor front view, and just relax!  The hotel is right off Centre Street which is home to dozens of restaurants, shops, boutiques, and even The Palace Saloon – home of Florida’s oldest saloon.  You’ll absolutely love this location at their Hampton Inn.

We’ll have some free time built in on this trip, as well as some beach time, and of course great seafood!  Can’t wait to enjoy their delicious fresh-caught shrimp.  This will be the perfect Island trip for all!  I’ll make sure that you get sand between your toes too!  Join us for these great stops:

-Historic Island tour with a step-on guide.   It’s here that you’ll learn about the eight different flags that have flown over this island.  It was a prime location for pirates too!

-Boat ride leaving from the harbor near our hotel which will feature views of Fort Clinch, the lighthouse, the shrimping industry, and of course it will take us for views of beautiful Cumberland Island, with its wild horses along its shores.

-A wonderful beachfront lunch ‘up island’.  You’ll be treated to great food and ocean views!  I’ll be giving you free time to walk a bit on the beach too.

-Island driving tour which will take us to Amelia Island, Little and Big Talbot State Parks.  They are absolutely lovely and will give you great views of scenic island habitats.  We’ll make a least two stops along the way where you can walk a bit on the beach.  If the weather is good, we’ll enjoy a short walk out to Driftwood Beach too, which is absolutely beautiful!

-Visit pretty St. Mary’s, Georgia where we will enjoy a step-on guided tour of this pretty small town.  It’s here that the ferries for Cumberland Island National Seashore sail, and you’ll have an opportunity to go to the Visitor Center which houses a small museum, and you can get your Park Service Passports stamped.  You’ll also have some free time to take in some of the shops in town as well as the Submarine Museum there too.  We’ll enjoy an included lunch here too!

-A lunch at Skipper’s in Darien, Georgia is also planned for the way home too.  Love their beautiful riverfront location.

-Everyone will be on their own for dinners each night, and downtown offers you a host of great choices!

-Shopping time in pretty downtown too.
