An Evening with Sean Dietrich

Two days and one night

I have become a huge fan of Sean and his Sean of the South daily columns. I read them every day on Facebook and always find a lot of humor and lots of compassion in his pieces.  He is a master of simple observations of people and places in the South.  (He recently returned home from Italy though and those pieces were fantastic too!  He kissed the ground upon his return to the South!)  I’m very excited to offer this little trip where he will be performing in Columbus, GA at the gorgeous Springer Opera House.  It will be the perfect venue for this gifted storyteller and musician.  It will completely entertain you!  He is quite accomplished and writes a daily column, has authored 15 books, hosts a podcast, and most recently has appeared several times on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry!  I just know you are going to love his live show and will come away with a giant smile on your face!

This trip will be a fun little getaway too!  While in Columbus we will have lunch at the always delicious Minnie’s Uptown, home of great southern food that Sean would completely agree with!  It’s a meat and three kinds of place, humble and small, and fantastic food!  We’ll also take a short driving tour of the town and its pretty historic district, as well as its lovely river walk area.  I’ll give you a bit of time to enjoy the shops as well.  Afterward, we’ll make a visit to their Columbus Museum, with its great collection of regional history and American Art.  It’ll be a nice place to walk and learn!  Dinner is planned that night and then it’s on to the show!

The following morning we’ll take it a little slow and then make a quick visit to their small Botanical Gardens.   The camellias should be in bloom and you’ll have a chance to walk a bit and take in this local spot.  From there we will travel to Union City for an included bountiful lunch at the Green Manor Southern Buffet!  It will be a treat for everyone!  We visited this past spring and their food is just as delicious as ever!  

This trip will celebrate all things Southern!  Just the way Sean likes it!  Can’t wait!!
