The Islands of Cape Cod and Atlantic Coastal Journey

Join us for this wonderful journey to Cape Cod.  While there you will have 4 nights at the same hotel and we will ‘day trip’ out to all the lovely sights of this coastal area.   There will be island tours, visits to charming villages, and great meals.   We will cover the entire cape, from the tip of the ‘elbow’ to the top of the ‘fist’.  You’ll see it all.  Along the way, we’ll enjoy the coastal town of Mystic, Connecticut, with its maritime history.  Visits are also planned in Newport, RI, the elegant town on the shores of the Atlantic with its magnificent homes and opulence!  We’ll also visit Plymouth Rock too!   This is truly a lovely tour with great stops, food and so much more! Here are our plans!

-Journey to the northern part of North Carolina for our first night with lunch included along the way.

-Stop in the Richmond area for a museum visit and an included lunch; then on to the Wilmington, Delaware area.

-Overnight in Mystic, Connecticut with an included dinner, followed by a stop the next morning at Mystic Seaport, a wonderful collection of homes, museums, ships, and all things maritime!  Lunch will be included here.

-Overnight in Newport, Rhode Island where we’ll enjoy an included dinner and then the next day we’ll have a step-on guide to take us along the magnificent Ten Mile Drive.  You’ll be stepping back in time to the opulent era of the Gilded Age where elite families like the Vanderbilts spend their summer.  We’ll have some free time downtown for lunch on your own and then it’s on to the Cape where we’ll have a great welcome dinner!

-Our first full day of touring the Cape will include a tour through charming Sandwich, the Cape’s oldest town.  Then it’s on to Woods Hole to board a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. We’ll have a guided tour along Oak Bluffs and the Camp Meeting Grounds as well as Edgartown.  You’ll have some free time and then back to the Cape for an included dinner!

-Next up is a tour of Hyannis with all its Kennedy heritage, and then on to Chatham, another charming seaside village with its beautiful lighthouse. Then on up through Cape Cod National Seashore to Provincetown, located at the tip of the ‘fist’, the most northern part of the Cape.  We’ll have an adventure here with a Dune Tour! 

-The next day we have a highspeed ferry to lovely Nantucket Island! Fondly known as The Gray Lady, this was once the whaling capital of the world.  It’s lined with handsome houses and lovely shops and we’ll see it all with our guide.  Back on the Cape, we’ll enjoy another included dinner with local entertainment too.

-As we leave the Cape, we’ll make a stop in Plymouth, where you can learn about the Pilgrims landing here and take photos.  Then it’s on to the eastern area of Pennsylvania for our overnight.

-We’ll make a brief stop in pretty Lancaster for lunch and a quick market visit and then continue on into Virginia for our last night on tour and a farewell dinner!
