Weekend in Tennessee!

This may be a short trip but we are going to have big fun while we’re out!  We’ll make our way to Crossville, Tennessee, where we will overnight in town.  Before we check in though we’re off to the Stonehaus Winery for a tasting and shopping in their fabulous gift shop!  We’ve stopped here several times and it’s always a big hit with the group.  Afterward, we’ll get checked into our hotel in town and then make our way to Cumberland Mountain State Park for a delicious dinner.  It will be served in the lakefront Homestead Harvest Restaurant.  It’s bountiful and delicious!  There are many New Deal-era CCC projects in this area and the park has many of them. 

-Following our dinner, it’s off to the Playhouse for a great Saturday night performance of All Shook Up!

It’s 1955, and into a square little town rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets.  This hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical will have you jumping out of your seats with such Elvis classics as Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Don’t Be Cruel, Teddy Bear, That’s All Right, and many more fun songs!  You’ll be tapping your blue suede shoes for sure during the show!  I love an energetic show like this with songs that we all know and love!

-The following morning it’s time for a visit to Knoxville where we will board the lovely yacht-style boat, The Volunteer Princess.  On board, we’ll enjoy brunch and of course Mimosas!  After all, what’s brunch without a cocktail?  We’ll cruise the Tennessee River while enjoying a delicious meal with breakfast items, as well as Roasted Chicken Breast, Chef’s Salad, Roasted Potatoes, and yummy desserts.

After this fun little outing, we’ll stop along Main Street and visit the famous Mast General Store.  We seem to always find goodies here every time we go!

-We’ll then make one final stop on our way home at Buc-ee’s!  It will be fun for a rest stop/shop stop!   We love to go here!   Join us for the fun-filled little weekend trip!
