Civil War Trails of Chattanooga and Chickamauga

Civil War Trails of Chattanooga and Chickamauga

$129.00

This trip will have great military history, beautiful National Military Park stops, and a visit to downtown Chattanooga for a museum stop and time for lunch on your own. Our first stop will be the interesting Medal of Honor Museum right in downtown Chattanooga. It’s very well done and follows the history of the medal all the way thru the Civil War to the present day. You’ll learn much about this incredible honor given to those brave soldiers!  After lunch on your own, we will make our way to the Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center.  There are sweeping views from this vantage point, and the war effort there will really come to life with the dynamic James Walker painting depicting the battle.  You can take a short walking tour from the small visitor’s center, and then make your way to the Point Park area. Beautiful walk and great views of Signal Mountain and more.  It’s fascinating.   We’ll then make our way back down the mountain and travel over to Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center.  You’ll learn about the battles that took place in the valley south of Chattanooga in Georgia.  They have a great visitor center with a short film, exhibits, and more.   Later, we will take a short driving tour of the park and make several stops at some of the monuments there, including Wilder Tower and the beautiful Florida monument.  After all this great history, we’ll make our way home with a stop at Buc-ee’s!  It’s always a fun stop!   This trip will leave at 8:00 am and will return around 7:00 pm.

The cost is $129 per person and includes deluxe motorcoach, driver tip, admission to the museum, donations to the parks, Buc-ee’s stop, tour director, snacks, water, and prizes too!  Sign up by Sept. 20, please.  No refunds after Sept. 30.
