4 days and 3 nights

It’s never too late to celebrate the holidays so by request, we are off to charming St. Augustine to take in their amazing ‘Nights of Lights’ Trolley Train, which will run through the end of January!  As our nation’s oldest city, it offers unique scenery, along with a history that is over 450 years old!  It is full of old-world charm, historic buildings, extraordinary architecture, lovely Spanish-style courtyards, and so much more.  We’ll be staying in the heart of the historic district at the Holiday Inn.  This location will put you steps away from restaurants, galleries, shops, boutiques, antique shops, and lots of places for you to explore.  With this single hotel stay, you’ll be able to enjoy this very group-friendly destination. While there we will also enjoy the following sites and experiences:

    • Narrated city tour on board a Trolley Train which will take you up close to the many historic sites in the area. You’ll see where the Fountain of Youth is, the Mission of Nombre de Dios, Flagler Memorial Church, and so much more.
    • A visit to the incredible Lightner Museum, once the home of the lovely Hotel Alcazar which was built by railroad and oil tycoon Henry Flagler. The museum is a local landmark and has an impressive collection of pieces from the Gilded Age. You’ll love the story of Henry and his wives!
    • Free time on lovely St. George Street, which offers a very walkable area of over 12 blocks of shops, museums, restaurants, and more. It has a very European flavor to it which you will enjoy strolling through.
    • Intracoastal Waterway Tour along pretty Matanzas Bay, where you will view the St. Augustine Lighthouse, Castillo de San Marcos, the Bridge of Lions, and other landmarks, all while learning about the local wildlife of the area.
    • Visit to pretty St. Augustine Beach area for some touring and a wonderful seafood lunch.
    • A lovely dinner at a local restaurant.
    • An evening trolley train ride through the Nights of Lights, which features over 3 million lights for over 20 blocks. The streets are decorated and the historic district will be aglow with this incredible annual city event. It’s truly a sight to behold! It’s recently been listed among the top ten holiday light displays in the world by National Geographic magazine.
    • We will have an included lunch on the way there, as well as on the way home at Skippers Dockside Restaurant in pretty Darien, Georgia, home to the largest fleet of shrimp boats in the state. It’s a lovely location.

This little trip is sure to be a hit and will chase away your January blues. There will be so much to see, places to go, good food to enjoy, and fun to be had by all. Join us!
