Gulf Shores, Alabama Beach Getaway!

It’s time to think about those white sandy beaches of the Gulf Coast!  We’re off to the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area for a very relaxing beach trip!   We’ll be staying at the all-new Lodge at Gulf State Park.  It’s a Hilton Brand hotel, much like the beautiful place we stayed in last year at Ft. Walton Beach, but a bit more private as it’s located in the 6150-acre state park there! It’s gorgeous!   Staying at this beachfront property will give you the opportunity to enjoy the pool and the beach just steps away! One night we’ll stay in, so you can enjoy a light dinner at their onsite restaurant.  I’ll be building in time for that ‘beach time’ on this trip, so you’ll come home relaxed and refreshed. 

We will be doing a bit each day and then returning to the hotel for that beach time.  One stop will be at the Wharf, the local entertainment, shopping, and restaurant area where you can enjoy an included dinner, as well as take in some shopping, and perhaps a ride on their beautiful Ferris wheel which offers fantastic views of the area. 

Another late morning, we’ll take in a dolphin cruise where you can enjoy time on the emerald green waters of the gulf.  It’s truly beautiful next to those beaches and I’m sure we’ll see lots of dolphins too.   Love time on the water in this area.  We’ll follow that up with a wonderful included lunch at the world-famous Flora-Bama Oyster Bar Restaurant.  (They serve lots more than that though!)  It’s been around since 1964 and is frequently seen in movies and music videos.  Fun spot!   Then it’s back to the beach to enjoy your time!!

Two evenings we will head out for an included dinner at one of their famous seafood places!   They are really terrific and each has amazing choices for you!   Each will be casual and each will offer great food!

We’ll also have some great stops along the way as we go there, such as an included lunch at Martha’s Place in Montgomery, Priester’s Pecans for all kinds of shopping for pecans, goodies, and lots of other fun stuff!  A new stop will be made on the way home in Alabama at Conecuh Sausage Company.   You’ll want to bring your soft-sided coolers and take home some of their homemade sausage and other great products.  It’s a wonderful store too with all kinds of goodies!  You’ll love it! This little getaway should be just what you’re looking for! I can feel the sand in my toes right now!
