Let’s enjoy a local trip where you can stay inside in the air-conditioning or venture out to the gardens if you wish!  We’ll visit the History Center where you are free to roam the many exhibits.  You can learn about the

history of Atlanta with its vibrant past through its historic home, farmhouse, 19th-century Cyclorama, military exhibits, transportation area to see the locomotive the Texas, 1996 Summer Olympics and so much more.  The ticket includes a presentation of the Cyclorama with its 20-foot-tall painting and diorama of the Battle of Atlanta.   It’s very impressive to see.  There’s also a new exhibit about the life and times of Atlanta Braves home run king Hank Aaron.   It will take you through his youth in Mobile and on into 1974 when he broke the homerun record!   He’s amazing.   There’s a great exhibit about celebrated interior designer Ruby Ross Wood and the impact she had in Atlanta.   She’s a remarkable lady who decorated the Swan House.  This trip is great for new folks to Atlanta and our local natives too.   It’s a great day to soak in all the history of Atlanta.  While out we’ll enjoy lunch on your own at Atlanta’s iconic Varsity! What’ll ya have?!!  Sounds like a fun day out to me!
