Let’s enjoy another hometown kind of day trip with lots of air conditioning! Join us as we visit the incredible Fernbank Museum where you can enjoy a self-guided tour of this beautiful facility. From the towering dinosaurs in the entryway to the awesome exhibits, this day is sure to be fun. While at Fernbank we will see a film in their Giant Screen Theater. You can also take in A Walk thru time to Georgia, where you’ll see our state’s natural history. Then there’s The Giants of the Mesozoic, it’s sure to be a hit. Other galleries include Stars, Nature Quest, and World of Shells to name a few. Outside is the Fernbank Forest if you feel like roaming outside a bit. This 65-acre space is an old-growth forest right in town. From there we head over to Mary Mac’s for an included lunch. You’ll enjoy this southern-style ‘meat and 2’ lunch. Their food is always a hit with everyone. Then it’s time to head to the original Fernbank Science Center where we see a show in the Planetarium. We will see Cosmic Colors, and discover why the sky is blue, why Mars is Red, and other wonderous journeys through color. This should be a fun, yet educational trip with the added bonus of a great lunch! Join us!
