Biltmore House In The Fall - Captivating Chihuly Glass Exhibit

Biltmore House In The Fall – Captivating Chihuly Glass Exhibit

October 28-30, 2024
3 Days and 2 Nights

This delightful fall tour will feature a two-night stay near Asheville. We will make our way there with an included breakfast at the Dillard House as we travel to this lovely mountain area.  The fall leaves should be spectacular!   We will then go into beautiful downtown Asheville where we will enjoy a wonderful trolley tour of downtown and the surrounding area.  This smaller vehicle will let us see the beautiful neighborhood in the area, and we’ll get to have a view of the lovely Grove Park Inn, surrounded by the lovely mountains!   You’ll then have some free time at the gorgeous Grove Arcade for shopping or perhaps some time to enjoy a tasting at a nearby brewery.  There is lots to see and visit in this art deco architectural haven.  Next up is time to check into our hotel for the evening.

The following morning it’s time to visit Biltmore!  This historical house is the largest private home in North America and features over 225 rooms! You will have access to the main 3 floors of the home, as well as the outdoor space with its sweeping views of the neighboring mountains. The fall colors will give us a beautiful backdrop to the house!  An included lunch is planned at The Stables which is next to the house.   It’s always delicious there and you’ll love the gift shops there as well. You should also take the time to visit the greenhouse on the property too.  It’s lovely. Afterwards, it’s on to Antler Village where you can enjoy all that they have to offer: including wine tasting, Biltmore Museum, multiple restaurants, farm museum, beautiful fall views, and really great shopping.  After our day at Biltmore, we will make a stop at one of the local breweries that Asheville is so famous for.   You can enjoy an included cold beverage and a light dinner.

The next morning, we will return to the grounds of Biltmore to go to the Amherst at Deerpark exhibit space.   It will be the perfect location to take in this thrilling new experience. These glass works, by famed glass artist Dale Chihuly, are truly awe-inspiring and will be a totally immersive experience.   There will be pedestal works, drawings, and large-scale installations of chandeliers, towers, Mille Fiori, and Neon.  It looks totally amazing!  Plus, we can enjoy some more fall colors in this area of the estate.  Afterward, it’s time to take the short drive to the North Carolina State Farmers Market which features food items, crafts, and so much more.  This enclosed facility is always fun to visit.  We’ll round out our stop there with an included lunch at the always tasty Moose’s Café.  I love their biscuits!  Our last stop will be in pretty Hendersonville, with its awesome Main Street. Don’t miss Mast General Store! We’ll then begin our journey home with a final drive across the mountains and its lovely fall colors!!
